Barb was born in Troy and grew up in South Troy- Ida Street.  She went to St. Mary’s School on Third and Washington Streets in Troy, Catholic High (class of 1964) and then went to St. Catherine’s Infant Home to train to be a “Child Care Technician.” –graduated in 1965. She worked there for 2 years-Newborn Nursery, and then went to work at the State-Dept. of Motor Vehicles. After she married in 1968, she was a stay at home Mom until her son and daughter were school age, she then worked part-time at Russell Sage College-Biology Dept., and then St. Mary’s Rectory on Washington Street, Troy. Her final full-time working place was the New York State Bar Association in Albany, and she remained there for 25 years before retiring. Barb was called back to St. Mary’s Church again part-time after she retired, and remained there until the closing of the Church. She was home for a period of time, and then she heard about St. Michael’s part-time job and applied. She is still here 6 years later!!  Her family consists of 2 sisters and 2 brothers, and she is the oldest. All of her siblings live in the area except for her youngest brother who lives in Wayne, PA. Barb loves shopping, movies and gardening.  Her favorite thing about St. Michael’s is the friendliness of the people who are in the Parish and Staff. Everyone is always willing to “pitch-in” whenever needed. No gripes- they just do!!  Her favorite quote is “try to do your best each day and good things will sure to follow!!”
